The Back2Work with U (B2W) Programme focuses not just on job placements but also on skills acquisition so that our women can enjoy greater job and income stability, and as such building up their economic resilience.

The key thrusts under this initiative can be broadly defined under the 3R framework:

• Recruitment
• Re-adjustment
• Retention

WDS organises job fairs as well as weekly recruitment drives offering various employment opportunities across all sectors and levels for our women job seekers.

As the B2W Programme offers a comprehensive human capital solution, employers have also benefited from our pool of women job seekers, who have filled their various vacancies. WDS is also administering the Flexi-Works! Funding scheme for employers who wish to recruit new employees on flexible work arrangements.

In 2008, WDS assisted about 2,300 women back to the workforce. The female labour force participation rate also reached an all-time high of 55.6%.

WDS believes that training will help to address women job seekers’ fear of entering or re-entering the workforce. Through training, these women can gain self-awareness, build their confidence and learn more about current employment trends and options.

Training and re-skilling programmes will focus on enhancing the employability of women job seekers. This will help to place them into better paying jobs.

An organization’s performance is highly intertwined with the well-being of its employees. Employees with a well-balanced work-life tend to be happier and more committed at the workplace. Work-life integration at the workplace is the key to achieving such win-win situations for both employers and employees.

As one of the tripartite partners on the Committee for Work-Life Strategy, WDS promotes work-life integration programmes to companies. Some of these key initiatives include flexible work arrangements, Little Ones @ Work and workplace health.
